Yoon Dongchun is one of the key artists representing the pluralist trends of contemporary Korean art in the 1990s. He consistently explored his theme of “incorporating art into daily life and making daily life into art.” He has also served as a professor for thirty years from 1993 at the Department of Art at the Seoul National University College of Fine Arts and continued his contemplation on art by fostering future artists as an artist and an educator. This exhibition will be an opportunity to examine how Yoon Dongchun’s art world, which encompasses four decades from the 1970s to the 2010s, has defined and responded to the callings of time through art. Through this exhibition, we hope to identify what the artist considered his main topic of art, “our problems, here and now,” and examine how Yoon Dongchun carried out his ever-difficult role as an artist and think of what we could suggest as solutions. Please visit this exhibition, which follows the trajectory of an artist who hoped for a convergence of art and reality.
