• Exhibition Period: June 23, 2022, Thursday to July 10, Sunday (Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 – 18:00_ Last Entry: 17:30)
• Exhibition Venue: Seoul National University Museum of Art
• Introduction

From his Curious Tongue series in the 1990s to his Ultra-Marine series in the 2000s, Professor Kim Tschoon Su has posed questions on “What is painting?” at the center of contemporary art and has continued to explore the themes of “contemporary – Korean – painting.” He has also served as a professor at the Department of Painting at the Seoul National University College of Fine Arts since 1996 and has shown students how to become an artist through practice in the field as an alumnus and a professor.

By encompassing the art world of Kim Tschoon Su, who has worked with blue hues from the 1980s to the present day to find answers to art’s most fundamental questions, this exhibition reveals how his methods have changed and reached their depth to this day. Twelve Questions is an exhibition that embodies the artist’s humble attitude to reach the essence of the painting by raising questions instead of presenting hasty answers, as well as his convictions for a new beginning. The exhibition will be a rare opportunity to experience an homage to life through Kim Tschoon Su’s artworks.
