Seoul National University College of Fine Arts Education Forum

​The “Seoul National University College of Fine Arts Education Forum” is a forum for education at the College of Fine Arts established in 2019 to address the need for further discussions on education as a higher educational institution and reestablish the educational philosophy and directions of the College of Fine Arts.

​With professors from each department in the College of Fine Arts (Dean Kim Seongheui, Professor Park Yeong Mog, Vice Dean Kwon Dae-Hun, Professor Kymn Kyungsun, and Professor Her Boyoon) participating as board members in 2022, the Education Forum examines education in the Seoul National University College of Fine Arts by reviewing the teaching goals, methods, curriculum and holding discussions on student careers. The Forum also runs various events, including internal meetings and public lectures, to share awareness of the issues in education at the College of Fine Arts.

​On May 31, the Forum invited Professor Shin Jung Cheol at the Department of Education to discuss the future of university education. First, the Forum examined how university education in each country was developed to take its current shape and discussed how the research function and teaching function in universities could develop together.

​The Forum also discussed future directions for education at Seoul National University. A summary of the special lecture has been attached for current students and lecturers at the College of Fine Arts to consider and continue the discussion on future development plans for the College. The attached special lecture notes are based on the special lecture materials prepared by Professor Shin Jung Cheol.
